Church Renovates Toilet.

Boanerges Apostolic Faith Church has taken over the renovation of a Council public toilet at Glen View 3 Shopping Centre. This was revealed by Ward 32 Councillor Tungamirai Madzokere at a feedback meeting held recently.

“I would like to thank Boanerges Apostolic Faith for voluntarily coming up with an initiative to renovate the public toilet at Glen View 3 Shopping Centre. I’m humbled by such a kind gesture. We encourage individuals or organisations operating in the ward to emulate the gesture,” he said.
Boanerges Apostolic Faith Church has taken over the renovation of a Council public toilet at Glen View 3 Shopping Centre. This was revealed by Ward 32 Councillor Tungamirai Madzokere at a feedback meeting held recently.

The church was represented at the meeting by Pastor Peter Dune.
“We bought roofing materials, chambers, water pipes, sinks, doors, flashing systems, door locks and window slides. We also welded the toilet’s door frames. Work has already started to spruce up the toilet and we expect to open the toilet soon to the general public,” he said.

He said the church was motivated to embark on the project after being allocated a church stand by council in the ward.  In addition, the church is going to paint the toilet as well as providing constant monitoring to maintain cleanliness. Residents urged council to convert its public toilets pay toilets but at affordable rates in line with regional trends. Residents feel this will not only create employment in the ward, but it will inculcate responsibility and a sense of ownership.
